World War Z is one of the most impressive zombie films released in the latest years. Among other things, that's mainly caused by the incredible number of zombies that appear on the screen. They are so many that they can pile up on themselves to overcome obstacles like walls like a colossal wave of bloodthirsty creatures. Developer Saber Interactive had quite a challenging task ahead when they decided to create a game inspired by the film, but World War Z, the video game, has climbed to the top of the charts and is now a favorite of the fans of zombie shooters. The features that have made the game so popular over the last few years include plenty of weapons to choose from, a solid campaign, and frenetic cooperative multiplayer where an appropriate strategy and a lot of skill are needed to avoid being another victim of a zombie swarm.
But no matter how good World War Z is, it can still be improved, and Saber Interactive has been working hard to take it to the next level. The result is World War Z: Aftermath, a new version of the game with plenty of novelties and enhancements to make every aspect of gameplay even better.
World War Z: Aftermath supports crossplay on PC and consoles for the ultimate zombie killing cooperative experience. The game also includes new locations for the campaign, namely Vatican City in Rome and the Kamchatka peninsula in Russia. Both of them will prove to be quite challenging scenarios where you will have to deal with the zombie threat the best you can.
Aftermath also increases the number of classes available in the game by adding the Vanguard, a seemingly defensive specialist equipped with an electric shield. It allows the Vanguard to support other players defensively and blast a hole into any group of zombies, causing a massive shock when charging with their shield up.
World War Z: Aftermath is already available on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. You can play it on next-gen consoles via backward compatibility, but a dedicated version for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S will be ready in early 2022. If you own World War Z already, there is an upgrade available that is slightly cheaper. Whatever the case, you can compare prices for World War Z: Aftermath on our comparator.
