EA and San-Rafael-based Ascendant Studios have announced that their spellbinding fantasy FPS Immortals of Aveum now has a release date: July 20, 2023. Check out the Immortals of Aveum launch trailer here:
The game takes place in Aveum, a fantasy world torn apart by a centuries-old war for control of magical ley lines. You play as Jak, an orphan turned into a living weapon when he joins the Magnus order of elite battlemages. What sets you apart is your uncanny ability as a Triarch, a mage capable of wielding the three colors of magic. You must use these powers to fight the forces of mighty Rasharn, a country competing with your homeland of Lucium for control of the leylines.
Immortals of Aveum promises rapid-fire spellcasting that rewards players for excellent timing and changing spell combos. For that reason, while you will be fighting creatures such as Elementals and Constructs, the most exciting battles will be duels against fellow mages. The game also features 26 types of spells and 80 talents to choose from, as well as the ability to craft magical gear that will work with your preferred type of magic. Spells include the likes of Breachfire, which blasts a spread of magical energy, or the more accurate Stormshards, which shoots projectiles that home in on enemies.
Game director and Ascendant Studios CEO Bret Robbins, who worked on the original Dead Space and Call of Duty series, explains that the studio wants Immortals to be more than a “one and done game”. They hope it will be successful enough to start a franchise and be “something that can be extended in a lot of different directions.”
Immortals of Aveum will launch on July 20 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. You can pre-order an Immortals of Aveum PC key from our comparator at the best prices.
