As previously mentioned, this will be a PlayStation exclusive, but since God of War has been remade for the PC, we can expect the same treatment for Ragnarok albeit further down the road.
Along with the announcement comes a new trailer featuring what lies ahead of the father-son duo of Kratos and Atreus as Ragnarok, the Twilight of the Gods, draws near.
So far we see flaming foes and ice-covered warriors, but it looks like they will also face down an enormous wolf, mostly likely Fenrir. There’s also the promised confrontation with Thor, among many others.
You can start pre-ordering the game as early as July 15. There are several editions to choose from, starting with the Standard Edition. The PS4 standard edition can be upgraded to the PS5 version for an additional $10.
Ordering the Digital Deluxe edition gets you new armor sets each for Kratos and Atreus, along with the game’s soundtrack, artbook, the avatar set, and PS4 theme. The Collector’s Edition includes a Steelbook case, a 16-inch high model of Thor’s hammer Mjolnir, two Vanir Twins carvings, and a dwarven dice set, all wrapped up in a fancy physical box. Finally, the Jotnar edition includes a fancier physical box, new badges, a nicer dice set, a Draupnir ring, a cloth map, and a vinyl disc with music from the game’s composer.
The game is still four months away as of this writing. To tide you over, you can play the PC version of God of War, or the similarly-themed adventure Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice. Of course, you can pre-order a God of War: Ragnarok PS5 key on July 15.
