Focus Home Interactive has a long story of games based on the tabletop miniature games from Games Workshop, and now that Warhammer Fantasy Battles has been replaced by Warhammer Age of Sigmar, we were entitled to a new game that would represent all the changes. There are several mobile games that already have set their eyes on this universe but Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Storm Ground is meant to be the one closest to the tabletop experience.
The new universe is quite different from the old one and everything from the miniatures to the gameplay system has been completely changed. Several factions fight across eight different territories spawned from the Winds of Magic and known as the Mortal Realms. Each of those factions has a very strong connection with a god or a primordial force, and their armies will fight for supremacy in massive battles. Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Storm Ground will let you control one of three different factions in intense turn-based battles. You will deploy your troops on a map and command them strategically to destroy your opponent's army.
Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Storm Ground will feature different campaigns with a high level of replayability. As you progress through each story, you will unlock new units, as well as new abilities and equipment to empower your troops and heroes. You will be also able to put your skills to the test against other players. With the release date getting closer, Focus Home Interactive has published a new video that gives us an overview of the gameplay in Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Storm Ground, which definitely looks great.
Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Storm Ground is coming to PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch on 27th May.
