It's almost two years since Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 was announced. The release was originally slated for 2020, but like many other games, it has been postponed on several occasions. The information about the game began to appear at a good pace during last year, especially regarding the different factions and clans that we will find in Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2. These were followed by a period of silence from Hardsuit Labs, and later we knew that the game's creative director and the main writer had left the ship. The reasons for these departures had not been made public and we were already doubtful about the release of the game. Today, it's been made public that the development of Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 has will be entrusted to a different studio. Paradox Interactive has issued an official statement, assuring that the game is still in development, before continuing with this surprising announcement:
[...] we have made the hard decision that Hardsuit Labs will no longer be leading the development of Bloodlines 2 - which also means that we will not be releasing in 2021 as previously planned. Since we cannot at this time communicate a new release date, we've also decided to stop accepting pre-orders for the time being.
The change of developer will also mean that we won't be able to play the game at least until 2022. Nothing else has been said and we do not know if the new developer is already decided or not. It will probably take a while before we get some news on that matter or about a possible release window for the game. The fans of Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines have more than enough reasons to be quite disappointed, but we hope that the change of studio will be beneficial for the sequel.
