The Switch 2 is about to launch, but the original Switch is far from "obsolete"

Although recent reports indicate that the Switch 2 may have already entered mass production, fans are still awaiting an official announcement from Nintendo, which, unfortunately, has yet to be made. Meanwhile, as fans anticipate the Switch 2's arrival, Nintendo appears to be continuing its support for the much-loved original Switch model.

Although an announcement is inevitable and could be made anytime soon, a credible YouTuber has stated that Switch will get multiple remasters from third-party developers in 2025 for the players who stick to the console.

According to YouTuber tvPH, who has previously leaked accurate information about Nintendo, the company is planning to release remastered versions of popular GameCube and Nintendo 3DS games for the Switch in 2025. This move aims to retain players who remain loyal to the Switch and extend the system's lifecycle, even after the release of the Switch 2.

Ubisoft is reportedly one of the publishers involved in this project, with potential remasters including Splinter Cell Blacklist, Rayman 3, and the first two entries of the Driver series. Additionally, EA and Bandai Namco may also join with some noteworthy remasters.

While there’s no official announcement from Nintendo yet, rumors about the Switch 2 are heating up. The successor is expected to fully support Unreal Engine 5 and debut in early 2025. It’s great to see that Nintendo has plans to feed those players who will continue to use their console and still get new titles to play. With more game updates on the way, the original Switch will continue to be an appealing entertainment option, even as its successor hits the market.
