The sequel to Lies of P could potentially be open-world

In recent years, games from Asian companies have experienced a remarkable resurgence. Just like major titles such as Elden Ring, Stellar Blade, and Black Myth: Wukong, Lies of P made a notable debut last year. Released by the South Korean company NEOWIZ, the game quickly gained recognition as one of the best Souls-like titles.

Lies of P was a successful launch for NEOWIZ, selling over 1 million copies in less than a month, with plans for additional content and a sequel announced shortly thereafter. The DLC already seems to be in development, and unlike the original, the sequel will be powered by Unreal Engine 5. Recently, additional information about the sequel was revealed through a job listing for a Field Level Designer, hinting that the next installment of Lies of P could become an open-world game.

According to the job listing (in Korean), NEOWIZ is looking for candidates with "extensive experience playing open-world level games" and "anyone with experience in creating a seamless world" for this sequel. By seeking individuals with such capabilities, it's highly likely that NEOWIZ's next Lies of P project will be an open-world game or at least feature some open-world elements.

With the success of Elden Ring, another open-world Souls-like game that quickly became FromSoftware's biggest hit, NEOWIZ seems to be aiming for a similar outcome. Whether this direction is the right choice for NEOWIZ remains to be seen. In the meantime, Lies of P has a DLC on the way, so if you haven't tried the game yet, make sure use our price comparison tool to get the best offer for Lies of P.
