The Last of Us franchise has become a cultural phenomenon with The Last of Us Part II in 2020, and with the highly-acclaimed first season of the TV series coming to a close. The time is ripe for The Last of Us Part 1 remake for the PC, which is coming out for PC via Steam by the end of March. Check out the PC features trailer now:
The Last of Us has already been remastered for the PlayStation in 2014, but as you can see from the trailer, Naughty Dog has pulled out all the stops to make this year’s new version as gorgeous as possible. If you’re keen on experiencing the remake, you may want to take a moment to review if your machine can handle it, especially on the higher performance levels.
According to Steam, you need at least the following to play the game:
It’s also recommended that you run the game on an SSD hard drive. Either way, you will need 100 GB of free space.
For those who want the best visuals the game can give, you will need a truly beefy PC to handle it:
High Setting with 60 FPS at 1440P: (as above except for these)
Ultra Setting with 60 FPS at 4K: (as above except for these)
As for the reason for this remake, Naughty Dog stated in a recent NoClip documentary that they wanted to create a “contiguous” experience from Part 1 to Part 2, that is, it would visually look the same so you could play the games back to back. Is this a hint that they're planning on remaking Part 2 for the PC as well? It seems likely.
The Last of Us Part 1 release this March 28. If you’re up for experiencing the new and improved version, you can pre-order a The Last of Us Part 1 PC key from our comparator.
