A few months ago Zenimax and Bethesda announced the new first-year-long adventure for their MMORPG The Elder Scrolls Online. Gates of Oblivion will allow players to immerse in an epic adventure whose content will be released through a whole year. Every new storyline in The Elder Scrolls Online usually starts with a new DLC that serves as an introduction, which is followed by a new expansion that brings a significant amount of content to the game. After that, a couple of additional DLCs are launched to complete the story. Gates of Oblivion will follow the same pattern, and players will be able to unravel the ambitions and schemes of the Daedric Prince Mehrunes Dagon 800 years before the events of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion.
The Flames of Ambition DLC will be available in a couple of months (March 8 for PC and March 16 for Xbox One and PlayStation 4) and it will serve as the starting point of Gates of Oblivion. The Elder Scrolls Online: Blackwood is a new expansion that will bring this year's chapter to the game a bit later, on June 1 for PC and June 8 for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 to be more precise.
Much like Greymoor and Elsweyr, The Elder Scrolls Online: Blackwood will add about 30 hours of additional story content and a new zone for the players to explore, Blackwood. . They will encounter new enemies, quests, world bosses, delves, public dungeons, and more, but this expansion will also add a new event for players to take part in, Oblivion Portals, which presumably will appear through the world and players will have to close by any means. The Elder Scrolls Online: Blackwood will also feature a new companion system for the game and a 12-player trial called Rockgrove. You can find all the information about Gates of Oblivion here.
Last year, you were able to stop the machinations of an evil vampire lord in The Dark Heart of Skyrim. Will you be powerful enough to stop a Daedric Prince from destroying Tamriel in Gates of Oblivion?
