Croteam announces Serious Sam 4 system requirements on PC

Serious Sam may not be your cup of tea with all of its gore and frenetic shooting action but it's undeniable that the series has a lot of fans. Now that the release of Serious Sam 4 is around the corner, developer Croteam has finally announced what kind of requirements your PC will need to meet if you want to play the game, also commenting on what kind of performance you can expect from the minimum and recommended configurations. Let's take a look at the requirements first:

Minimum:

  • CPU: 4 cores Intel or AMD @ 2.5 GHz
  • RAM: 8 GB
  • GPU: NVidia GeForce 780/970/1050 or AMD Radeon 7950/280/470
  • VRAM: 3 GB
  • OS: Windows 10 64-bit (1809/1903)
  • DirectX 11

Recommended:

  • CPU: 8 cores Intel or AMD @ 3.3 GHz
  • RAM: 16 GB
  • GPU: NVidia GeForce 1080/2060 or AMD Radeon Vega64/5700
  • VRAM: 8 GB
  • OS: Windows 10 64-bit (1909)
  • DirectX 12 or Vulkan

As you can see, Serious Sam 4 will be moderately demanding when it comes to hardware. It will run at 30 fps on 720p for minimum configuration and on 1080p resolution on recommended. Of course, your hardware will have a direct impact on the performance of the game, and if you have a better computer you will be able to play Serious Sam 4 on 4k resolutions at a higher frame rate. That said, it kind of makes sense that you need a good rig to play Serious Sam 4 given the ludicrous number of enemies and explosions that you will have on the screen when playing the game.

Serious Sam 4 will be available for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on September 24. Although the possible next-gen versions of the game have not been announced yet, it wouldn't be too surprising to see them announced in the following months.
