Season 1 brings 8 multiplayer maps to Black Ops - Cold War

A few days ago we showed you the story trailer of Call of Duty: Black Ops - Cold War Season 1, which gave us some insight on the kind of novelties that it will bring to the base game when it starts. Although we will still have to wait several days until the new content is available, Treyarch has published a new video that reveals gameplay footage during The Game Awards 2020 ceremony, which took place yesterday. The video showcases Rebirth Island, which is a brand new map that will be available to all Call of Duty Warzone players for free on December 16th.

The publication of the video has been accompanied by several posts on the official Twitter account of the studio that shed some light on the kind of content that the first season is bringing to Call of Duty: Black Ops - Cold War. Players will be able to take part in multiplayer battles through eight new maps, including The Pines, Raid, and Nuketown '84 Holiday for 6v6 players, Game Show, ICBM, U-Bahn, and KGB for 2v2, and Sanatorium for Fireteam. But Season 1 is also bringing more things than just the Rebirth Island map to Warzone, and those that love the free-to-play battle royale will see the addition of a new gameplay mode, Resurgence, as well as Cold War weapons and operators, and other novelties. Finally, if killing zombies is your thing, expect new seasonal challenges, 2-player split screen, and two new Onslaught maps.

All of those additions will be free to all Call of Duty: Black Ops - Cold War and Call of Duty: Warzone players. Of course, you will have to download a rather sizeable update in just a few days no matter which of the two games you play. There are quite a lot of players waiting for the multiplayer update so you won't have any problems finding people to play with once the servers are ready.
