Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny is an upcoming remaster of the eponymous title originally released in 2002 for the PlayStation 2. Onimusha 2 has long been celebrated for its captivating storyline, engaging characters, and innovative combat mechanics. In the game, players take on the role of the courageous samurai, Jubei Yagyu, in his quest to defeat the dark warlord, Fortinbras, and unravel the mysteries surrounding the demon-infested realm.
Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny features a new control system that will appeal modern players although fans of the classic can also choose a more familiar one. Also, the newly introduced 'Hell' mode is designed to push players to their limits. In this mode, any hit you receive will cause your immediate death. This mode is the ultimate challenge for those willing to put their skill to the test. It's so hard that even the developers have had problems completing the game in this mode. Only a couple were able to do it according to Motohide Eshiro, the original game director, who talked about the game in a recent interview on PlayStation Blog.
"It’s definitely not for all players. This is something like a challenge from the developers, especially for those players who brag about their skills. We really want players to experience epic sword battles full of tension.
I haven’t been able to complete this mode yet, but we figured that if even one person in the world can complete this game, that will be OK. Another team member has been able to complete this new hell mode, so we know it’s not impossible."
The remaster, along with the new 'Hell' difficulty mode, is set to be released soon.
