Nvidia's new driver update hints at PC Version of Final Fantasy XVI

Final Fantasy XVI has been a significant success for Square Enix, with achievements such as selling over 3 million copies in less than a week after its release. Although it remains a PS5 exclusive, there have been numerous hints from Square Enix promising that a PC version of Final Fantasy 16 is in development.

Recently, a Reddit user discovered some intriguing details in Nvidia Geforce's latest driver update, which includes a game ready driver profiles for both Final Fantasy XVI and Once Human. However, these details were not included in the official driver release notes.

This Nvidia driver update has sparked speculation that the release date for the PC port of Final Fantasy XVI might be imminent. We already know that the PC version could be released sometime later this year, but the exact date remains unknown. However, we might get official information about the release date of the PC port of Final Fantasy XVI at Gamescom 2024, held in Cologne from August 21 to August 25, where producer Yoshi-P will also be in attendance.

The PC port of Final Fantasy XVI will include features such as ultra-wide monitor support, an unlocked frame rate mode, customizable mouse and keyboard settings, and more. Yoshi-P has also confirmed that you'll need a powerful PC to play Final Fantasy 16. DLCs like Echoes of the Fallen and The Rising Tide, which have been well-received by PS5 fans, will also be released alongside the PC version.
