No Rest for the Wicked reworks the Cerim Crucible

As you probably know, No Rest for the Wicked entered Early Access about three months ago. The action-adventure game from Moon Studios offers an original story-driven experience that feels like a combination of the best genres. The game is played as a classic ARPG, but its combat feels very Soulslike. If you combine that with incredible graphics, a gripping soundtrack, and plenty of exciting features, the result is a game with huge potential. So far, it has caught the eye of many players, but as an Early Access title, it can be subject to significant changes before the final version is released. This is the case that occupies us today.

Improving the game

Moon Studios has released a video that reveals the changes made to the Cerim Crucible, a very important element of the end-game content in No Rest For the Wicked. This roguelike repeatable dungeon is now more challenging than ever. The latest update has greatly increased the variety of randomized chambers that you can encounter as you explore it. Also, players who delve into the dark corridors of the Crucible will now find a new art style and be subject to the Echoes system. This new gameplay system grants players buffs and effects as they progress, and allows for a myriad of possible combinations that will significantly change the way you play the game on each run. To complete the list of additions, you can now find the Seneschal in the Crucible, a friendly vendor who is more than willing to trade valuable goods with you.

The latest update to No Rest for the Wicked also introduced a multitude of bug fixes and minor adjustments. Alongside those, the patch also introduced a new enemy faction: the Gloam.

"The Gloam are lost souls who became infected by the Pestilence within the deep, dank caves throughout Sacra. Some got lost, trapped underground, or buried alive – but all of them ended up glowing with a kind of corrupt bioluminescence, similar to the algae and fungi that bloom within those same caves."

With all these additions, No Rest for the Wicked is shaping into an even better experience that will continue growing with the feedback of those playing the game in Early Access.
