SEGA is now prepping another major Sonic title. SEGA’s chief, Takashi Iizuka has confirmed the rumors that have been brewing this week about a new entry to the Sonic the Hedgehog series. This exciting news was revealed during the SXSW Gaming 2019 and even though it's still in its early stages and nothing has been revealed so far regarding the mechanics and specifications of the game, the news is still quite relevant due to Sonic’s solid and massive fanbase.
The franchise also has a movie in the works starring Ben Schwartz as Sonic the Hedgehog, and Jim Carrey as Doctor Robotnik. If we consider other recent Sonic titles, Sonic Mania and Sonic Forces were released in 2017. Both titles did not do very well when they came out, but hopefully, things will change for the better for the next Sonic title. Aside from that, there is the upcoming Team Sonic Racing as well, that's set to bring back the nostalgic music and tracks of the classic racing game from the series. The said game is due this May and now with the new Sonic the Hedgehog game, it will bring some attention to the series. The next announcement will probably be given on the E3 this coming June. It’s not too long a wait, so let’s just wait a bit for the official word on the new game. Regarding Team Sonic Racing, new changes have been announced. The good news is that you will be able to customize the vehicles down to the tiniest details (like the horn) and the bad news is that it doesn’t have a character creator. The game will also have a series of animated shorts made by the same team that created Sonic Mania. Watch the first part below.
