It’s only a few days till the release of the Horizon Forbidden West DLC, Burning Shores, so it’s time to take a look at what this expansion has in store. Check out the Burning Shores trailer here:
Playing once again as Aloy, you will explore the post-apocalyptic ruins of Los Angeles, undergoing quests and solving various mysteries. L.A. is now a land with high volcanic activity, hence the apt title for the expansion.
But the highlight of the expansion is arguably the new Waterwing mount, a pterodactyl-like creature that lets you fly through the air and even explore deep underwater. It will also keep you from falling victim to the volcanic hazards plaguing L.A.
The Waterwing is not just another mode of transportation, however. This creature is equipped with projectiles at its mouth and tail area, which Aloy can use to protect herself from the more savage machines of this new land. It can also knock back enemies by creating waves of concussive force with its powerful wings. That’s one handy bird.
As mentioned previously, Burning Shores is going to be a PS5 exclusive as it needs to make full use of that platform’s technical prowess. Based on the trailers, the developers seem to have done just that—the graphics look amazing, particularly when flying through the clouds. If you happen to have a PS5, then Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores deserves a spot on your list of games to play.
Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores will launch on April 19, 2023. Pre-ordering the game will reward you with some bonus items: the Blacktide Dye Outfit and the Blacktide Sharpshot Bow. You can pre-order a Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores PS5 key from our comparator. If you don’t have the base game yet, you can check our listings for a cheap Horizon Forbidden West key.
