It's been nearly two years since Marvel's Spider-Man 2 was released in 2023. With Insomniac Games confirming that they have no plans for DLC, the question on every fan’s mind has been: When will Marvel's Spider-Man 3 come out? The sequel to one of the greatest superhero games of all time ended with Miles Morales fully stepping up as Spider-Man, seemingly taking over the mantle from Peter Parker. This left fans wondering—will Peter still be Spider-Man in the next game, or will Marvel's Spider-Man 3 focus solely on Miles?
According to a report from The Direct, Peter Parker’s voice actor, Yuri Lowenthal, has confirmed that Peter is still part of the franchise and will play a role in the next game. This statement reassures fans who feared that Marvel's Spider-Man 3 would focus entirely on Miles:
"There are very few things that I can say about this game, but you have somehow landed on the one thing that I can answer, and that's that, yes, Peter is not gone. He will be a part of the next game, and he won't be relegated to the couch, I promise."
A widely discussed fan theory suggests that Marvel's Spider-Man 3 may introduce three playable characters, similar to Grand Theft Auto V, allowing Peter and Miles to share the spotlight. This speculation gained momentum after the post-credits scene in Marvel's Spider-Man 2, which introduced Cindy Moon—also known as Silk—into the Insomniac Games universe. Cindy was revealed as the daughter of Albert Moon, who is dating Rio Morales. If this theory turns out to be true, it would mark Silk’s first appearance as a playable character in a superhero video game.
Although Marvel's Spider-Man 3 has been teased since 2023, fans are eagerly awaiting more details on its storyline and gameplay mechanics.
