One of the big enigmas about Warhammer 40,000: Darktide is what classes we will be able to play in the game exactly. Developer Fatshark did great work with the Vermintide series giving each of the different classes a unique feel and gameplay style from the start. Each of the classes began using certain weapons but they could change the gameplay style with others as the game progressed. We expect Warhammer 40,000: Darktide to maintain the uniqueness of each class throughout the whole game no matter what weapons you use, just like in Warhammer: Vermintide 2.
The Zealot: Preacher class has been presented in a spotlight video that reveals all you need to know.
Warhammer 40,000: Darktide features a class system with four archetypes you can choose: Zealot, Veteran, Psyker, and Ogryn. Each of those archetypes can then choose from a variety of specializations. In this case, the Zealot: Preacher is a melee-focused character able to decimate opponents at close range. They have access to a wide range of close-quarters weapons, both guns and melee weapons, and will put them to the best use in order to deliver the Emperor's justice to the heretic and traitors that hide in the depths of Tertium. With little care for their own life and a boost to their attack speed granted by their extreme fanatism, these warriors are like the ultimate holy berserkers.
You can learn more about the class concept and its specific abilities in the official Warhammer 40,000: Darktide blog. The game will release on November 30 on Xbox Series X/S and PC via Steam and the Windows Store.
