Bethesda is celebrating the 25th anniversary of the launch of 1997’s Fallout, and it has have announced something that's sure to elate the fans: in line with the upcoming launch of Starfield, Fallout 4 is getting a new update for the PC, Playstation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Seems we have a good reason to revisit the Commonwealth Wastelands.
You can get an idea of how will it look by imagining the trailer below with 4K resolution and better framerate.
In Bethesda’s words, we players must “prepare for the future.” They has this to say in their blog post:
“A next-gen update is coming to Fallout 4. Coming in 2023, this free update will be available for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and Windows PC systems, including performance mode features for high frame rates, quality features for 4K resolution gameplay, bug fixes and even bonus Creation Club content.”
Fallout 4 had previously received an FPS update for the Xbox One X, but it only reached 30 frames per second. Last year, Bethesda bumped up the framerate for the Series X and S to 60 fps, but the resolution still remained at 1080p. With next year’s update, expectations are high that we'll see an even better performance.
Apart from this news, Bethesda announced another gift for fans: Fallout 76 has an anniversary bundle that will be available until February 2 through Prime Gaming. Expect to find new lunchboxes, bubblegum, and skins for weapons. You will also get a free new item every day by visiting the Atomic Shop.
With the Starfield release just around the corner, it’s a great time to be a Bethesda fan. If you haven’t gotten them yet, you can check out a Fallout 4 PC key as well as a Starfield and a Fallout 76 code with our price comparator.
