Without a doubt, Elden Ring is the most hotly-anticipated game of 2022, and nothing proves it like the numerous awards it has already won despite not having been released yet.
Elden Ring has won two The Game Awards: back-to-back wins of Most Anticipated Game in 2020 and 2021. In Gamescom 2021, it won five more awards for Best Sony PlayStation Game, Best PC Game, Best Action Adventure Game, Best Role-Playing Game, and Best of Gamescom. And finally, it won the 2021 Golden Joystick Award for Most Wanted Game.

While these awards are designed for games that haven’t been launched, it’s not like they don’t have a basis. Playthroughs during the live beta test have gotten players raving about the game, and no less than the game’s writer George R.R. Martin praised Elden Ring as “incredible."
