Sorry, fans of Dying Light—Dying Light 2 Stay Human has been pushed back yet again. Originally set for a December 7 launch, the sequel to the hit parkour zombie game has been moved back again by developer Techland to February 4, 2022.
Techland CEO Pawel Marchewka has this to say on the matter:
“The team is steadily progressing with the production and the game is nearing the finish line. The game is complete and we are currently playtesting it. It is by far the biggest and the most ambitious project we’ve ever done. Unfortunately, we’ve realized for us to bring the game to the level we envision, we need more time to polish and optimize it ...”
“We are sorry to keep you all waiting a little longer, but we want the game to meet your highest expectations on release and we don’t want to compromise on this.”
Dying Light 2 has quite a bit in store, with the players getting to explore the City, said to be the last stronghold for the human race. Players will see the world through the eyes of new protagonist Aiden Caldwell as he joins the group of survivors known as the Nightrunners. Techland promised that game previews will be available sometime in October.
A delay may mean a better game, but it also opens up Techland to more competition with many other high-caliber games launching in February. Elden Ring, Horizon Forbidden West, Rainbow Six Extraction, the Destiny 2 expansion, and several others will mean a crowded playing field for Dying Light 2.
In any case, be ready to play Dying Light 2 on February 4, 2022. In the meantime, you can compare game prices for Dying Light 2 for when it launches.
