Although the game is still in Early Access, developer Shiro Games has very ambitious plans for Dune: Spice Wars. After all, Dune is a very popular sci-fi franchise with lots of fans, and disappointing them is not really an option. Dune: Spice Wars already showed promising features when it was announced, but the recent reveal of the Early Access roadmap for the game has all the fans excited, as it solves many doubts about the game and includes many features considered a must-have by the community.
Dune: Spice Wars is a real-time strategy game where players fight to control the Spice production on the desertic planet Arrakis. The lack of a multiplayer mode in its current state has stopped many players from considering the game a suitable addition to their libraries, but Shiro Games confirms that multiplayer should arrive during the summer. Up to four players will be able to conspire for the domination over the planet's resources in co-op and free-for-all multiplayer modes. Also, a new playable faction and a new win condition will be added to Dune: Spice Wars during the same period.
The roadmap also reveals the addition of new spaceports, ships, and advanced units further in the future, allowing each of the factions to expand their arsenal and armies. Councilors will also take a proactive role in the conflict, and they will double as special agents and combat experts, adding a new layer of strategy to your Dune: Spice Wars games.
Shiro Games has more things in store for Dune: Spice Wars, but we will have to wait until future updates to know more about them. So far, the additions revealed are quite a solid base to take the game in the right direction and reinforce its position ahead of the release of its final version.
