Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake is a stunning reimagining of the beloved classic and the first installment of the epic Erdrick Trilogy narrative (although some of the franchise's most fervent fans may disagree). The first three Dragon Quest games will receive a visual treat with its vibrant HD-2D graphics and a gaming experience like no other with its new and modernized features and refined narrative. Players are invited to embark on an unforgettable fantasy adventure to save the world from a looming dark evil. Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake is being developed by ARTDINK (Triangle Strategy) and Team Asano (Octopath Traveler, Bravely Default II). Tomoya Asano and his team are the masterminds behind the creation of the graphical engine HD-2D that's been used in many of Square Enix's new games and classic games remade.
Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake tells the tale of the great hero Ortega, who bid farewell to his wife and son as he set out on a mission to defeat the villain Archfiend, Baramos. Ortega failed in his mission, and Baramos still threatens the world. Now, on his sixteenth birthday, Ortega's only son is summoned by the king of Aliahan and given a mission of the utmost importance: to take on Ortega's mission, defeat Baramos, and save the world. Accompanied by a group of traveling companions chosen at the beginning of the game, players are immersed in a vast HD-2D world filled with cities, dungeons, and caves, meet fascinating characters, and battle fierce monsters in enhanced turn-based combat.
Pre-orders for Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake are already available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and Microsoft Store on Windows. The RPG arrives on November 14, while Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake is slated for release in 2025.
