Blizzard spices up Diablo 4 launch with a competition

The upcoming release of Diablo 4 is one of the most anticipated events of the year in the world of video games. Not only Activision Blizzard has managed to raise huge expectations among the fans of the series with a new visual style and gameplay systems but it has also given players several opportunities to try the game ahead of the release. Players who tried Diablo 4 during the beta and got at least one character to max level will get several rewards at launch, but the developer has more in store to spice up the return of the players to Sanctuary.

A race to the top

The official Diablo 4 account on Twitter has revealed that the first thousand players to reach level 100 on hardcore mode will receive quite an exciting reward. If you are among those, you are entitled "to have your username immortalized on a statue of Lilith."

As you can imagine, there will be a huge number of players rushing through content in Diablo 4 as soon as it's available in order to achieve such a feat and get the reward. It's worth noticing that the contest follows some strict rules and has some restrictions, but the prize seems to be worthy of the effort. You have until September 1 to complete the task, but it's quite likely that the rewards are long gone by that time.

It's clear that the competition also serves as a powerful marketing strategy to make players pre-order Diablo 4 Digital Deluxe or Ultimate Edition as those allow you to play the game in Early Access on June 1. If you go for the Standard Edition and start playing on June 6 you will definitely be at a disadvantage on this race to be one of the first 1000 at max level on hardcore.
