Deathbound Release Date

  • Deathbound will launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on August 8, 2024.

Deathbound, a party-based soulslike, immerses players in a harsh world where faith and science collide. Survival is not a solitary journey; it's about defying death and embracing Ziêminal by forming alliances with fallen warriors. With a dynamic 4-hero system, players can seamlessly switch between characters in the heat of battle, ensuring survival through the power of teamwork.

The dynamics between these characters significantly impact gameplay, leading to different outcomes and status effects based on their actions. For instance, aligning characters from the Church of Death and the Cult of Life—two opposing factions within the narrative—will cause conflict and result in consequential combat effects. Conversely, combining fallen warriors with similar beliefs may yield powerful combat bonuses, ideal for defeating relentless enemies. Despite their differences, the fallen must unite in battle. By charging a shared synchronization meter during battles, you can unleash a devastating Morphstrike that combines the group's strength, which is crucial for overcoming deadly adversaries.

Deathbound is a soulslike that taps into the genre but brings its own twist to the table. In the past, others have tried the same, such as Lies of P, one of the most well-received soulslikes today. Another one that will be released in September is Enotria: The Last Song, a soulslike inspired by the Italian culture but without stereotypes and clichés. While the genre may seem oversaturated on the gaming scene, there's always one or two games that surprise players, though unlikely to outshine FromSoftware's games.

Deathbound will launch simultaneously on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam, GOG, and Epic Games Store on August 8, 2024. Those eager to experience the game can now do so with a Steam demo. You can also keep an eye on our comparator for the best deals on Deathbound and experience a unique take on the soulslike genre.
