Dead Island 2 is getting a New Game Plus mode

Dambuster Studios has expanded Dead Island 2 with several DLCs after the game was released. After many years of waiting for it, players finally managed to immerse in a new zombie-killing adventure, this time set in Los Angeles. Haus and SOLA Festival both added new scenarios and storylines for players to explore, but the game has also received content in the form of free updates. That is exactly what occupies us today as the developer studio has announced that Dead Island 2 will receive new content in a free update.

New Game Plus and more

In early May, Dambuster promised to add new content to Dead Island 2. However, game director David Stenton didn't reveal any details about what type of content it would be. Now, the official announcement of Patch 6.0 for the game has left us with further information about the upcoming content. The most significant addition coming to the game with this free update is the New Game Plus mode, which will allow players to start their adventure all over again with a higher difficulty level while keeping their weapons and character progress.

The patch also includes a brand new cooperative horde mode, Neighborhood Watch. In this mode, players take the role of the Bobcats as they try to clean their neighborhood and keep it safe. During the course of several days, players will have to complete missions and set up defenses while they fend off zombie attacks. Then, on the fifth day, a massive zombie onslaught will put to the test player's hard work. This mode will also feature new weapons, skins, and gameplay mechanics. Patch 6.0 will also include more novelties that will be revealed in the coming days.
