Cyberpunk 2077 has needed a long time to be at the top due to its flawed release, but CD Red Projekt has finally managed to tie everything up with the release of the Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty expansion. Not only this was acknowledged at The Game Awards, but it also has translated into a steady growth in the number of copies sold. The recent release of Cyberpunk 2077 Ultimate Edition surely contributes to making the game even more popular as it gives the fans of the game access to a package containing both the expansion and the base game, as well as all the updates released to date.
CDPR has already revealed that it's done with Cyberpunk 2077 as a game. Phantom Liberty is its only expansion and the studio is now focusing on other projects, namely the sequel to The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. But the sequel to Cyberpunk 2077 is already on the studio's "to do" list and it's unavoidable that information about the game starts appearing one way or another. In this case, CD Projekt Red narrative director Philipp Weber has made a statement in a recent interview concerning the importance of the Life Paths in the future sequel to Cyberpunk 2077.
"I do think there are things with, for example, the life paths, that kind of gives you a promise as being able to play more different kinds of characters. I think this is a thing where, in the future, that's an example of something we would like to improve. Since I do think we gave a promise there that maybe in the end we did not really sell."
Although the three different Life Paths available in Cyberpunk 2077 add some variety to the game in its first stages, the difference between Nomad, Corpo, or Street Kid rapidly vanishes as the game progresses. The system just leaves behind some dialogue options that add some flavour but with no meaningful impact on the game. Hopefully, the next game in the series will give more relevance to your character's origins and allow you to navigate different paths as the game progresses.
We will still have to wait a very long time until the sequel is ready since the studio is now mainly focused on other projects. In any case, it's good to know that CDPR won't stick to the same formula and is instead looking for ways to improve the future game. Meanwhile, you can check out the best deals to purchase a cheap Cyberpunk 2077 code if you have yet to discover the game. Don't forget that the game experience is way better if you have access to the Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty expansion.
