Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will include a Battle Pass

The fans of the Call of Duty series have been quite concerned for a while about Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. Activision had not been clear about if the game would include loot boxes but this concern has been finally tackled yesterday when it was revealed through a post on the official blog that such a system will not be present in the game. Instead of taking that route, they have decided to release a Battle Pass system, similar to the one present in other titles like Fortnite, which will allow players to unlock all the content that may have a relevant impact in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare just by playing the game.

Not only you will be unlocking things like weapons or attachments, but also cosmetic items that will have no impact on the gameplay balance. Those types of cosmetic items will also be available through an in-game shop. And the best thing is that you won't be gambling anymore like it happens in Black Ops 4, and you will know at every moment what item you are unlocking.

In the same post, Activision has also highlighted that they are focused on delivering the best Call of Duty: Modern Warfare experience at launch, and for that same reason the Battle Pass feature will not be included when the game is released on October 25th, and it will come later this year. It is also expected that the contents available through the Battle Pass will change as the different post-launch seasons of the game are coming, allowing players to get a variety of content that matches the theme of each season.

Leaving aside loot boxes in favor of different monetization systems that actually let the players know what they are paying for seems to be the new trend in videogames and we couldn't be happier that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has decided to board that train too.
