After a weekend in which many players have spent quite a few hours testing Call of Duty: Black Ops - Cold War multiplayer alpha on PlayStation 4, Activision has just revealed the dates for the upcoming beta. There will be several beta events happening during October. Some of them will be available to people that have pre-ordered the game but those that have not decided if they like it enough to purchase it will also get to try Call of Duty: Black Ops - Cold War ahead of its release. Also, it seems that there will be more content available during the betas, at least on the upcoming one, but it's also likely that the final version of the game will be slightly different. After all, those are testing events and Treyarch is still trying a few things, as it happened during the alpha event, in which the sniper rifles had a significant boost.
Ok let's talk Sniping in Cold War.

Crossplay is coming, but we knew it wouldn't be in Alpha. We buffed Snipers to evaluate their performance in this Alpha specifically. Sniper Rifles WILL have balance changes for the upcoming Beta based on our analytics data this weekend.
As expected, PlayStation 4 players will be the first ones that will get to play the beta, and those that have pre-ordered the game will be testing Call of Duty: Black Ops - Cold War from October 8. On October 10 the beta will be open to all PlayStation players for a couple of days. One week later, on October 15, the beta will be extended to also include those who have pre-ordered Call of Duty: Black Ops - Cold War on PC and Xbox One too, and it will run through the weekend. Finally, from October 17-19 everyone will get to play the beta on all platforms whether they have pre-ordered the game or not.
That's a very good opportunity of experiencing a part of what Call of Duty: Black Ops - Cold War has to offer ahead of its release. Although it's quite unlikely that the full game is going to be available during any of the betas you still can get a feeling of the gameplay mechanics, the novelties, and the overall gameplay experience in the new shooter.
