Black Myth: Wukong has absolutely broken the charts, becoming the most-played game on Steam and selling over 10 million copies in just three days of release. However, despite its massive success on PC and PlayStation 5, Black Myth: Wukong has yet to make its way to Xbox due to optimization issues, and it seems unlikely that it will arrive on Xbox anytime soon.
Paul Tassi, a writer at Forbes, asked Microsoft about the current status of Black Myth: Wukong for Xbox—a question that Game Science has remained silent on for months. A company representative gave a rather concerning response.

The article mentions that there is no exclusive contract between Game Science and Sony for Black Myth: Wukong; Sony hasn’t signed anything with Game Science to keep Black Myth: Wukong off Xbox. The main reason Black Myth: Wukong hasn’t landed on Xbox is largely due to technical issues. Xbox seems to be facing the same difficulties it had with Baldur’s Gate 3 last year when Xbox had to wait until December to get Baldur’s Gate 3 on its platform, while PC and PlayStation had it as early as August.
Porting AAA games to Xbox is a nightmare for developers; Larian Studios also expressed many challenges in bringing Baldur’s Gate 3 to the Xbox platform last December. Although there are many existing issues, Xbox remains a significant platform with millions of users, and it would be a shame if a big hit like Black Myth: Wukong couldn’t make it to Xbox. For now, let's hope that Game Science will do their best to bring Black Myth: Wukong to Xbox as soon as possible.
In the meantime, Black Myth: Wukong is already available on PC and PlayStation 5. Don't forget to use our price comparison tool to get the best deal on Black Myth: Wukong if you haven’t experienced this game yet.
