Bioware starts revealing details about the new version of Anthem

It's been quite a long time since a multitude of players were eagerly waiting for the release of Anthem. The game delivered by Bioware didn't match the expectations of the players due to several problems and the developers were not fast enough addressing all the issues present in the game and the concerns of the players. As a result, plenty of players abandoned a game that had all the potential to become great. A few months after the launch of Anthem, Bioware announced that they were going to work on a new version of the game that would make players happy. That happened quite a few months ago and we have heard nothing about any changes coming to the game during that time, but the wait is finally over. A new post has been published on the NEXT Anthem forums and it reveals some details about some of the new systems that are going to be implemented in the game.

This specific post focuses on Javelin builds and gameplay and gives us an overview of some new features while showing a revamped version of the interface. The customization process of your Javelin and the weapons it carries is going to be much smoother thanks to the new interface, which allows you to manage equipment abilities from the Loadout Screen, and categorizes all items to one of the 11 available equipment slots and weapons into Primary or Secondary.

Another very important change affects the abilities in the game, which will now be unlocked by spending points that you will earn by leveling each of your Javelin. You can use those same points to unlock passives and improve your stats. Builds will be defined by the synergies of specializations, abilities, and equipment, and those synergies will be improved by inscriptions. Also, each of the specializations in Anthem will have a brand new advanced skill tree that will let players adapt their Javelins for a specific type of gameplay. Finally, a new type of item will be introduced in the game, the Artifacts, which would replace the current component system to add "pieces of super-powered tech that set your Javelin and Freelancer apart".

Such a deeper level of customization and gameplay options is going to be very welcomed by Anthem players since it's been one of the major complaints since the game was released. The lack of a real progressions system was one of the factors that contributed to the current situation of Anthem, and fixing that seems to be the right choice to return the game to where it should be.
