As the final release date for Battlefield 2042 closes in, players are queuing up for a chance to play the game ahead of release through an open beta. Thankfully, developers have now announced dates for the beta test: October 8 to 9, for all supported platforms. Those who have pre-ordered the game get in even earlier, on October 6 to 7.
It’s Open Beta Time
EA’s blog mentioned that the beta will last from 7 AM UTC on October 8 to 9. You may start preloading Battlefield 2042 beginning October 5 (see below for the required HD space). The game will be unlocked for those who pre-ordered by October 6 to 7, while the rest have to wait until October 8.
The only accessible mode on the beta test will be the 128-player Conquest mode using the Orbital map (note that Xbox One and PlayStation 4 owners won’t have access to the 128-player version).
Likewise, only four Specialist characters will be available: grappling-hook specialist Webster Mackay, field surgeon Maria Falk, engineer Boris Guskovsky, and recon specialist Casper Van Daele. Plan your teams accordingly.
