Alien abduction survival horror Greyhill Incident launches in June

Your close encounters with the Third Kind will be anything but cordial with Refugium Games’ Greyhill Incident, a survival horror that pits you against hostile aliens invading a town during the 90s. Greyhill Incident launches this June 9 for PC and PlayStation consoles. Check out the launch trailer now:

Beware the little grey men

Drawing obvious inspiration from M. Night Shyamalan’s movie Signs--complete with a brother wearing a tinfoil hat--Greyhill Incident is also looking quite a bit like Outlast with its story-driven horror, dark environments, and numerous hidden antagonists stalking you through the night. You play as Ryan Baker, a town resident armed only with a bat, a revolver with few bullets, and your wits. That will have to be enough to save your hometown of Greyhill from the aliens. The trouble is that the residents are less than willing to report the alien abductions to the police for fear of ridicule, so it’s up to you to save them. You can use stealth to sneak past aliens, and if that fails, bash their heads in with your bat. You must also gather supplies, help your neighbors, solve various puzzles, and get to the bottom of what seems to be a government conspiracy.

It’s been a great year so far for survival horror games, what with the success of the Dead Space remake, the Resident Evil 4 remake, and the upcoming remake of Silent Hill 2. Still, these are all just retreads of existing games. The genre needs new blood, so hopefully Greyhill Incident and the upcoming Amnesia: The Bunker will inject some much-needed originality into the mix. We’ll see if they hold up to expectations set by the previous games.

Greyhill Incident will release this June 9 for the PC, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5. Pre-order a Greyhill Incident PS5 key from our comparator today.
