The recent Summer Game Fest has successfully replaced the E3 as one of the main video game events in June. We had the opportunity of discovering novelties about plenty of upcoming games, including the eagerly awaited Alan Wake 2. If Remedy introduced Saga Anderson as one of the two protagonists of the game not too long ago, now we can see her in action. The game will offer you two different adventures that are interconnected, one starring the FBI investigator, and the other one starring the well-known bestselling writer that gives a name to the series: Alan Wake himself.
Remedy had more in store for the fans, and you can now watch the first piece of Alan Wake 2 gameplay footage in a thrilling video. It showcases Saga Anderson as she explores a seemingly abandoned cottage in the woods surrounding Bright Falls while investigating a series of ritualistic murders.
As you can notice, combat seems to be more engaging than in previous Alan Wake games. Action and storytelling go hand in hand and contribute to creating a more immersive experience. Remedy Entertainment has explained it in a recent interview:
"It's a more cohesive package. That was something we were very much aware of from the first game; where it was story, then a lot of combat, and then a bit of story. Here we're trying to meld the story with combat and with exploration. We have cinematics, there's live action, all in a slightly more cohesive way."
Overall, Alan Wake 2 is in a very good position to become one of the most important games of 2023 in the survival horror genre.
