Predator is a 1987 science fiction film that has inspired many video games over the years including the popular Alien vs. Predators series. The alien hunter that uses foreign planets in order to look for dangerous prey to hunt as a sport is one of the favorite characters of the fans of the license and it will be present once more in a new video game. Predator: Hunting Grounds is an asymmetric multiplayer horror game that will allow players to recreate the events in the movie. Four members of a Fireteam will have to complete missions in a remote jungle while being stalked and hunted by a fifth player that plays as the Predator.
The Fireteam members are well equipped and each of them is specialized in the use of certain firearms, but they are no match to the hi-tech weaponry, cloaking devices, and superhuman strength of the Predator. As the Fireteam clears objectives and navigates through the dense South American jungle it will become obvious that someone is stalking them. Reaching the evacuation chopper alive before the Predator hunts you down and skins you alive will be your only option to successfully finish this adventure if you are playing as part of the Fireteam.
On the other hand, if you are playing as the Predator you will be able to choose between several different classes that include Berserker, Hunter and Scout, each of them with its own capabilities. As a Predator, you live for the hunt, and using the wide array of deadly weapons at your disposal you will have to hunt down your prey one by one before they can escape.
Developer IllFonic studio already has plenty of experience in the genre since they are the creators of Friday The 13th, which features similar gameplay. If you are interested in Predator: Hunting Grounds, you will be able to give the game a try before it is released because IllFonic is hosting a free trial weekend next month. PlayStation Plus subscribers and PC players can access the trial from March 27th through Sunday 29th. The official release of Predator: Hunting Grounds is scheduled for April 24, 2020.
