As we told you in a previous article, the possible multiplayer features of Halo Infinite have been in the minds of the fans of Halo during the last few days and they will probably continue to be like that until 343 Industries clarifies what kind of multiplayer the new Halo game will include. But Halo Infinite is not here yet and the majority of fans are keeping themselves busy with Halo: The Master Chief Collection, which has made the original Halo trilogy available on PC with the recent release of Halo 3. With that, Halo: The Master Chief Collection becomes the most complete compilation of Halo games ever created and it also gives the players the possibility of enjoying their favorite Halo titles with much better graphics. But if you thought that 343 Industries would forget about Halo: The Master Chief Collection now that Halo Infinite is in the spotlight, you will be quite surprised to know that they have announced new features for the compilation.
Halo: The Master Chief Collection will see the addition of cross-play between PC and Xbox, and you won't have to wait too long for it to happen. Developer 343 Industries have announced in an update on the official website of the game that they are working on cross-play, which should be released this year along with Input Based Matchmaking, and Server Region Selection. Along with those additions, Halo: The Master Chief Collection will also support the use of keyboard and mouse on Xbox. All that just means that you will be able to choose to play with people of your same region that are using the same input device as you, negating any possible advantage, no matter what platform you are playing the game on.
That is great news for all Halo fans but at the same time, it's another factor that puts pressure on the release of Halo Infinite. Considering that Halo: The Master Chief Collection offers so many gameplay options to the players, the new installment in the Halo series will have to be really good if it wants to make people abandon what they are playing now. We hope that the developers reveal more information about Halo Infinite soon, but at least we have a great compilation of Halo games to have fun until that happens.
