Grounded boasts great sales numbers on its Early Access release

Obsidian Entertainment has a long history of great role-playing games but they are also delving into different genres. One of their current projects is Grounded, an adventure that will delight fans of Disney movies because the premise of the game is quite similar to the one in the film from 1989 Honey, I Shrunk the Kids. The game was announced a few months ago and since then it has piqued the interest of the players all over the world. This fact has been demonstrated by the great sales numbers of Grounded barely a few hours after the game was available on Early Access. It managed to become the top-selling game on Steam barely a few hours after its launch and that is a lot to say for a game that has just hit Early Access and that is not even finished yet. It's even more impressive if we consider that Grounded is currently available for free to Xbox Game Pass holders. This definitely shows that if Obsidian plays well its cards, we could be talking of a very important game in a year in which the Game of the Year award is likely to have a lot of candidates. Cyberpunk 2077 and Baldur's Gate III could be some examples.

The high number of copies sold has been accompanied by the third spot on the list of Twitch most viewed video games. On the other hand, the number of concurrent people playing Grounded on Steam has not been that high, reaching a maximum of barely 12.500 players, which is rather low.

Grounded is a cooperative survival game in which you play as one of four children that have been shrunk down to the size of an insect, and that will discover that the backyard of their home can be quite a dangerous place. Exploring a vast world looking for resources to survive and build shelter and defenses against aggressive bugs is just the beginning of this thrilling adventure.
