Don't miss the presentation of Assassin's Creed Valhalla

For months now, everyone has been talking about it and a number of rumors have been circulating everywhere. Some looked credible, others far-fetched, but the mystery has just been solved. The next episode of the Assassin's Creed series has just been announced, and it will bear the name of Assassin's Creed Valhalla. We heard comments saying that new game would be called Ragnarök not too long ago but it seems that they were wrong. And as you probably already know, the first trailer of the game will be presented at 5 pm CEST on Ubisoft's Twitch and Youtube channels, so it's time to take a look at what you can possibly expect to discover with this trailer.

The artwork that was revealed yesterday, and which creation we were able to follow in streaming by the artist BossLogic, already reveals some clues. While the name Assassin's Creed Valhalla, may suggest that we might visit the land of the Viking gods, the images suggest that we would be fighting against the English. Assassin's Creed Valhalla would, therefore, take place at the time of the Viking raids on England, either in the 9th or 10th century. This is the period in which the famous Vikings TV series takes place.

But that's not all. While the original artwork was devoid of it, the version published on Twitter by Ubisoft Montreal clearly shows that our character will indeed have a hidden blade, which was missed by a lot of players in Assassin's Creed Odyssey. Another clue, the raven that can be seen in the background, doesn't it remind you of anything? It seems that the features introduced with the addition of our dear eagle Ikaros will be back in this new entry.

Finally, what this image does not reveal, and what we should find out tonight, is when and on which platforms Assassin's Creed Valhalla will be released. Knowing that Assassin's Creed Origins and Assassin's Creed Odyssey were both released in October, we can reasonably assume that the next game will be available around the same date. However, it's more than likely that the next installment in the series will be cross-gen, and since the PS5 and Xbox Series X are supposed to be released in November, it could well be that the timing is a bit different, especially since the coronavirus is slowing things down a bit as well.

In any case, we will know the answers about all those questions very soon, as there are only a few hours left before the reveal of the first trailer of Assassin's Creed Valhalla, which you'll be able to follow from 5 pm CEST on Twitch and YouTube.
