Released last November as a temporary exclusive on PS4, and after an extensive promotional campaign, Death Stranding will be playable on PC very soon.
It is not a surprise, since we have known it was coming to PC for months. The announcement of the release of Death Stranding on PC had been made via the official twitter account Kojima Productions, even before the release of the game on PS4. The tweet, however, only mentioned an exit window for summer 2020, and no specific platform.
Well, there is a launch date now, since 505 Games has published an official statement on its blog. Death Stranding will be released on PC on June 2, 2020. Regarding platforms, you don't have to worry, since the game will be available both on Steam and Epic Games Store. Collectors will be delighted to know that they will also be able to obtain the physical version of the game on the same date.
The press release published by 505 Games also states that the PC version of Death Stranding will offer a few extras:
The PC launch will also feature a bunch of exciting content and features, including Photo Mode, ultra-wide monitor support and high frame rate, enhancing the DEATH STRANDING experience for our PC players. We’re also thrilled to announce that the PC edition of DEATH STRANDING will also feature content from one of Valve’s most iconic franchises, Half-Life.
Now let's check out DEATH STRANDING (PC version) trailer below
Regarding the crossover with Half-Life, we do not know yet what kind of content it will be exactly, but we can already see Norman Reedus wearing a crab as a hat in the short trailer above.
Death Stranding pre-orders are already open, and they come with a number of bonuses. However, nothing has been specified about the minimum or recommended specs required to run the game on PC. We imagine they will be revealed very soon.
