Can you judge the truth about a person’s character based on a few pieces of paper? That’s your job in this critically-acclaimed puzzle game. In Papers, Please, you play an immigration officer working the border checkpoint into the fictional communist dystopia known as Arstotzka.
Arstotzka has just come out of a long war with its neighbor, Kolechia, and tensions remain high. As the officer manning the booth, Your job is to check the immigration papers of everyone attempting to enter the country. You need to scrutinize every detail and check it against an ever-increasing set of rules and restrictions. Decide who is to be let in, who will be turned away, and who will be arrested. Be careful: while some have legitimate reasons for immigrating, others do not. Letting in the wrong person can have devastating consequences for you and your own.
Your poor family is relying only on you to hold this job. Somehow, you must balance the needs of your country, your loved ones, and the desperate souls trying to enter Arstotzka.
