Infamous Second Son is an action-adventure game set in an open world. The game was developed by Sucker Punch Productions and it was published by Sony Computer Entertainment for the PlayStation 4. Infamous Second Son launched worldwide on March 21, 2014. Following the previous game, Infamous Second Son followed a protagonist that possesses strange superpower abilities that can be used while engaging with enemies as well as out of combat (while traveling across the city) Infamous Second Son's story revolves around our protagonist, Delsin Rowe, as he battles the Department of Unified Protection (D.U.P.) in a changed/fictionalized city of Seattle. The karma system from the previous game is also present in Infamous Second Son, so players can affect whether Delsin Rowe uses his new immensely powerful abilities to be good or bad, which will affect the game's ending. The player will control Delsin from a third-person perspective. The open world of Seattle offers you the freedom to freely climb the buildings using parkour. Delsin can use his powers to manipulate smoke, neon, video, and concrete because he is a Conduit. Using these powers depletes a meter that can be found in the head-up display, and this meter can also be refilled, for example, by drawing smoke from exploded cars. Progressing through the story will give you exciting new powers, which he will use to fight the D.U.P. during his missions. Delsin needs to destroy a D.U.P. Core Relay every time he gains a new power to learn the basic ability that corresponds to that new power. Upgrading and acquiring new abilities is done by spending collected Blast Shards, which are scattered throughout Seattle. Depending on the player, Delsin can either become good or evil. Healing civilians earns you good karma, while brutal murders earn you evil karma. Also, during the development of the story, Delsin sometimes comes across a scenario where he has to decide whether to make a decision that will earn him a large amount of good karma or bad karma. These choices influence the outcomes of some latter missions. Visual changes occur when Delsin does a lot of evil/good things, and by continually storing up one type of karma fills up one meter that allows you to do a Karma Bomb once it's full. New powers also become available corresponding to the type of Karma that's prevalent. Players can do all sort of things when not completing story missions, such as city exploration, tagging graffiti, or even assassinating D.U.P. secret agents. Delsin can also liberate each city district (the whole city is initially controlled by D.U.P.) and when control of a district drops below 30%, Delsin can then enter a District Showdown where he has to defeat a wave of D.U.P. forces to completely eradicate their presence there.
