Call of Duty: Ghosts is the tenth installment in the Call of Duty franchise, and it's the sixth Call of Duty game developed by Infinity Ward. It was released in 2013, and besides Infinity Ward, Raven Software, Neversoft, and Certain Affinity helped with the game's development. Call of Duty: Ghosts released for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and the Wii U on November 5, 2013, and Treyarch was specifically handling the Wii U port. Call of Duty: Ghosts' campaign was told mostly through the eyes of one character, Logan Walker. The player plays as Walker for the majority of the game, with other characters also being present like the astronaut specialist called Baker, Logan's father, Elias Walker, and finally, players had the option to play as the first non-machine and non-human character, Riley. The most prominent feature about Ghosts' multiplayer was the ability to alter or destroy certain areas in maps. The other noticeable addition to Call of Duty: Ghosts' multiplayer mode is the game type called Squads. Players can play this mode solo or with other players or their friends. The squad is made out of ten different customizable characters. Players can then use these squads in special game modes where the AI controlled the enemies and your squad mates. The Squads game mode included Squad Assault, Safeguard, Safeguard Infinite, Squad vs Squad, and Wargame. You can play all of these modes both offline and online. Finally, we have the Extinction mode. Extinction is Call of Duty: Ghosts' 4-player co-op mode in which the players go against strange aliens called Cryptids in a survival style map with base defending. The goal in this mode is to destroy every Cryptid hive on the map (Awakening and Exodus are exceptions). There are four different class types to choose from and each has their own unique traits and customizable load outs. The classes can be leveled up, which unlocks more weapons and equipment. Extinction is unlocked by completing the first level of the Campaign.
