Dark Souls is the amazing heroic fantasy action role-playing game by the Japanese developers From Software and published by Namco Bandai. First released on console only, fans around the world asked for a PC version and their plea was atended. The PC version, known as Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition, features new content not released on consoles and includes the DLC Artorias of the Abyss as well as new bosses, enemies, NPCs, armors, weapons, and spells.
This game is known to be extremely difficult and challenging. The plot of this dungeon crawling game is quite simple: in a world invaded by Evil, you play as an Undead who has not yet turned Hollow. An ancient prophecy claims that one day, a chosen Undead will change the world. After you manage to kill a huge demon, the chosen one could be you.

Dark Souls - Prepare to Die Edition

If you do not have a Steam account, you will need to download the client from the official website, install it and then create your account. If you criticize the scenario on that, you really don't know anything about the depth of the thing x) Also they really want to show in dark souls that we are only one of many who tried before us and succeeded, the other players are.

No but man, we don't judge ALL THE TIME an RPG on its scenario, what makes the charm of Dark Souls is the challenge which results from it and the number of epic scenes, if you fix yourselves to that you risk missing thousands of good games...
