Behind the Throne adds new mechanics that let you delve into the world of political schemes, secret pacts, and conspiracies that take place in the royal court. The addition of new historical characters such as Alcibiades and Avicenna, as well as new projects like Estates and Opulence change the political landscape of the game by multiplying your options. The expansion also introduces Rising Stars, Stress & Revelry mechanics, the role of Grand Vizier, and new Political Eras, adding depth to the gameplay experience.
