Silence is your friend and noise is your enemy in the asymmetrical survival horror game In Silence. Play as either one of six survivors or the monstrous Rake, a blind creature that relies on sound to hunt. As a Survivor, you must escape the monster...or, if you can, destroy it.
Play as the monster. The Rake is a supernatural creature with incredible hearing abilities, capable of detecting sound across the map. It’s also completely blind; it can only “see” when something makes a sound, whereupon it can rapidly sprint to the location of its prey to slaughter it. In the right hands, the Rake is a terrifying killing machine.
Play as the survivor. Your goal is to live. At any time, you can die by inadvertently making a sound, such as stepping on a toy or some leaves.
To win, you can choose to escape by repairing a car and leaving. On the other hand, you could find a hidden armory, pick up weapons, and hunt the monster down. And if you die, you reincarnate as a mouse that can help others by bringing items or creating distractions for the Rake.
It’s anybody’s game. With In Silence, no two games are ever the same; your perks, item locations, and escape points are procedurally generated. One side can turn the tables on the other with luck and a bit of skill. So...are you the hunter or the victim?
