Terminator: Resistance is a new take on the universe depicted in the popular sci-fi movie saga. Based on The Terminator and T2: Judgement Day, this title focuses on the events in the possible future that appears in both movies, where humankind is on the verge of extinction in a war against the machines.
Skynet is the maximum exponent of an Artificial Intelligence developed by humans that gains self-awareness. When it manages to spread into millions of computer servers all across the world, it's creators realize the endless potential it has, and decide to deactivate it. But the self-preservation protocols of Skynet conclude that humans are a threat to its primary objective, safeguarding the world, and its only option is the elimination of the threat. As a result of its ability to control machines through the world, humans and machines get immersed in an all-out war where our dependency on the machines we have created leads to a scenario in which humans are about to disappear.
It is in this period when Terminator: Resistance takes place. The game is a first-person shooter set in a post-apocalyptic future where the machines are about to destroy the last remains of human resistance. Using hi-tech cyborgs known as Terminators, Skynet is close to delivering the fatal blow that will put an end to this war and destroy humankind. The Terminators are deadly killing machines whose resilience and physical capabilities are no match for humans, and some of the last models developed even have the ability to disguise themselves as humans to infiltrate the ranks of the resistance and destroy them from inside. You will be part of the unlikely group of survivors and heroes that still try to fight against the Terminators with limited means. Despite the lack of resources and the technical superiority of the machines you will do your best to survive and fight in a war that you are most likely going to lose, but if you have to die, you will do it fighting.
