This old school dungeon-crawling role-playing game series is totally modernized with visuals and sounds. You can choose from eight classes and five races to make your six members team, then delve into one of several dungeons near the central town hub. You can change their classes as you need or focus on leveling to gain extra bonus skills. But take care, the over 100 monsters are vicious, deadly, and attack in packs. Each expedition needs careful planning if you expect to be successful.
The game also offers options to chat with the locals, pick up new quests, pray for guidance at the temple, go bargain-hunting for new/rare equipment, and more.
Avrul, the god of creation, made the Draguun, a race of beings bearing the bloodline of the dragon gods. They excelled in the mystic arts and built a prosperous civilization, ruling over the world for many years. But the Draguun were arrogant, and eventually fell to their own powerful magic. Then the people united and started the Age of Athals. In the 100th year of Athals, the emperor of Darua fell into madness and his empire quickly collapsed. The land was divided among three factions – the Kingdom of Diement, the Council of Qhopati and the Haersant Federation. Working together, the three countries built a strong alliance, and created lasting peace in Athals.
But monsters that were supposedly sealed away by the angels, began to appear once more. And not only did monsters and beasts now roam, but demons known as the “Elder Ones” also turned their attention to Athals. The sages say that “Something which had once sealed away the Elder Ones is losing its power,” and the fortune-tellers say that “The balance of the world has begun to collapse,” but not one could be truly sure of the reason for their return.
Wizardry: Labyrinth of Lost Souls has been upgraded to modern PC standards with HD graphics at multiple resolutions, a variety of control schemes including keyboard and mouse controls, the addition of a Turbo Mode for faster exploration, and with all previous DLC content included.
