Guilty Gear or Giruti Gia in Japan is a series of fighting games developed by Arc Systems Work and designed by Daisuke Ishitawari. The first title of the series came out in 1998 and then the series expanded with several sequels over the years. This game is considered to be a cult classic among many video game fans due to its emphasis on visual elements, fighting engine, soundtrack, and the design of the characters and their attacks. By far, the highest scoring title in the series is Guilty Gear X at 89.33% and X2 for PS2. The game primarily features one on one competitive battles between players. You are tasked with depleting the opponent’s life gauge. You must utilize the attacks available to you. For timed matches, the one with the most remaining life gauge wins the game.
Guilty Gear 2019 comes as part of Arc System Works and PQube Games’ Guilty Gear 20th Anniversary Edition for Nintendo Switch. It is set to be released Spring this year however a physical release of the game will be made together with the base Guilty Gear and Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus R. Still, those games are available to purchase separately in digital stores.
Guilty Gear will be making its way to PS4 this year.
